Like any good Spartan couple, Allie and Dyl first met at a bar in the middle of the day wearing an uncomfortable amount of green, just not in East Lansing and a few years past their college glory days. Instead, it was at an Italian restaurant in downtown Detroit on St. Patty's day, standing around a large fire pit...
A few weeks later and it's time for their first full day-date, a date Dyl had planned meticulously with his brother and best man, Nate Kangas. The plan was to show Allie Detroit, specifically Bell Isle, as Dyl had a sneaking suspicion Allie would enjoy the conservatory, the views, and everything in between. Dyl came flying across the bridge only to get pulled over and assessed a hefty fine for speeding in a construction zone...not a great start. Needless to say, the rest of the date went great, Dyl and Allie spent the coming years getting to know each other and falling in love more and more each day.
Flash forward to April 10, 2021, where Dyl took Allie back to Belle Isle to "take pictures of the daffodils" (Allie thought this was her idea), however Dyl had other plans in store. Dyl was calm, cool and collected as he got down on one knee, forgot every word he planned to say, cried a bit, and asked Allie to marry him. In response, Allie forgot the one word she wanted to say, cried a bit, and finally uttered a "yes!" and the rest is history.
